6 pm update:
Took awhile to put the drain in since they hit a major blood vessel in his scalp and it took a great deal of time to stop the bleeding. Drain is placed. Bob is now bald on a quarter of his head. I will shave the rest as soon as he wakes up or they let me. 🤕 No swelling of the ventricles in the brain so the drain should come out in a day or so and the hole in the skull will fill with scar tissue (its tiny). So it’s just the DAI that’s keeping him asleep. “Just” the DAI. It sounds hysterical to me that that’s the little think that keeps him asleep but it’s a major thing. Continue to pray for his brain to heal and for him to open his eyes and begin the breathe on his own. The vent needs to come out sooner than later.
